You know how people always say, “if you put good in, you’ll get good out”? At Toskaia, we’ve kept that axiom in mind while formulating our skincare heroes. Ethical and effective skincare is our thing. It’s what gets us out of bed every morning. It’s what puts a spring in our step, and we think it can change the world. But like all things, you can’t cover a whole lot of ground without a good foundation. A good skincare routine can help you glow, but it’s kind of like Yin without Yang. Some things are better in a pair. With that said, we’ve created our (vegan approved) list of foods to help boost your glow from the inside out. Eating these powerhouse foods will kick your skincare routine into high gear so you can get glowing.
sweet potatoes + carrots
Our C.E.O swears by these two, so they share the number one spot. “I’ll eat a sweet potato with pretty much anything. They’re packed with vitamins C and E that’ll keep you glowing, and the Beta-carotene helps fight free radical damage. Carrots are similar, and you can pop shredded carrots into a smoothie (orange, carrot, pineapple smoothie anyone?) for breakfast or whenever!”
avocados
Loaded with healthy oils and fatty acids, avocados are perfect for helping dehydrated skin get its dew back. Slice it up and put it on a roasted sweet potato. Voila! A side dish for dinner and glowing skin.
green tea
So green tea isn’t a food, but it’s one of our favorites, not only to drink, but also in our skincare formulas. It’s a powerful agent, loaded with antioxidants, that can improve the elasticity of your skin, helping you look younger.
